Today was a slower day, because we did not catch as much as we had originally hoped. We started out early and once we got to our first spot labeled “Mangrove” under the gps, we were unable to catch anything, but we did keep losing our bait from the fish eating the bait. We then decided to go to the next spot, where Captain Rick and Captain Tray were catching fish like crazy, followed by my dad. I had a bad day and kept snagging the bottom, or caught a fish that snagged itself on the bottom, and would almost always lose my line. First mate Braxton waited until everyone had caught at least 2 fish then he began to pull fish in as if there was no tomorrow. We ended the day with close to 40-50 grunt, 2 big red grouper (out of season so we tossed him back into the water), and 2 mangrove snapper. The last bite was for Braxton, who had too small of line and it later snapped, we think it was either a grouper, or a really big snapper. We ended the day with a good amount of fish.
